If choosing bedding for the guest room always keep in mind that what you like may not be a color that your guest will like so try and keep to colors that are relaxing and not to dramatic. If the style is contemporary use bedding with clean lines no frills and fussy details. Lay some nice throw cushions on top of the bed for that little added detail. Remember that there is more to bedding than sheets pillowcases duvets and blankets. You may want a bedspread to cover your bed with during the day. A bedskirt is also an option for divans. Bedskirts usually go between the mattress and the divans and they hang down to either hide the divans or hide the space under your bed (which is great if you have got a lot of stuff under there!). Pillow shams which are like large decorative pillow cases are another piece of bedding you may decide to purchase. You can often find many lines of bedding that provide all of these in the same pattern or colour.
OK here is one case where size really matters. Beds are usually bought based on the general rule of thumb that it must be the biggest bed you can fit in your room. Remember that size should not only be based on width and height but also the length which should ideally be 10-15 centimeters longer than the tallest sleeper. Those who are over 6 feet in height may have to go for customized beds but if you search diligently online you should be able to find bed manufacturers who make beds up to 7 square feet or cater to other special size requirements.
